No Pakistani in ICC Men’s ODI Team of the Year

Discover the ICC Men’s ODI Team of the Year, but with a surprising absence – No Pakistani in ICC Men’s ODI Team of the Year.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has revealed the Men’s Test and ODI squads for 2023.

The ICC Team of the Year honored 11 notable who shined in 2023, although none got it into Pakistan’s selections.

Pat Cummins was chosen Test captain of the year after taking Australia to their first World Test Championship (WTC) win in 2021-23, capturing a total of 42 wickets.

Here are the following Men’s and Women’s teams selected for ODI Team of the Year.

All-Time ICC Men’s Test Team of the Year:

Usman Khawaja, Travis Head, Joe Root, Ravindra Jadeja, Dimuth Karunaratne, Kane Williamson, Pete Cummins (c), Pete Carey (w), R Ashwin, Mitchell Starc, and Stuart Broad.

The ICC also revealed the ODI Team of the Year, dominated by the Indians, as expected given that the Blues played their greatest cricket in the 50-over format despite losing the World Cup to Australia.

India skipper Rohit Sharma was selected as team captain after his amazing performance this year.

The other Indian players named to the ODI Team of the Year were Virat Kohli, Shibman Gul, Mohammad Siraj, Kuldeep Yadav, and Mohammad Shami.

Player of the Year for Men’s ODI ICC:

Rohit Sharma (captain), Travis Head, Shibman Gill, Mohammad Shami, Adam Zampa, Mohammad Siraj, Kuldeep Yadav, Marco Johnson, Virat Kohli, Daryl Mitchell, Henrik Klaasen (w).

The ICC also revealed the 2023 Men’s and Women’s T20I and ODI Teams of the Year.

Men’s T20I ICC Team of the Year:

Phil Salt, Nicholas Pooran, Arshdeep Singh, Ravi Bishnoi, Richard Ngarava, Mark Chapman, Sikandar Raza, Alpesh Ramjani, Mark Adair, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Suryakumar Yadav (captain).

Year’s Best ICC Women’s ODI Team:

Phoebe Litchfield, Beth Mooney (wk), Nat Sciver-Brunt, Ash Gardner, Annabel Sutherland, Nadine de Klerk,

Lea Tahuhu, and Nahida Akter; Chamari Athapaththu (C); Ellyse Perry; Amelia Kerr at Beth Mooney (wk);

Women’s T20I ICC Team of the Year:

Ash Gardner, Deepti Sharma, Sophie Ecclestone, Megan Schutt, Amelia Kerr, Ellyse Perry, Nat Sciver-Brunt, Laura Wolvaardt, Hayley Matthews, and Chamari Athapaththu (C).
