It is now official that Ali Zafar, together with Aima Baig, another rising star in the music industry, will perform the PSL 9 theme song.
A video of the singer playing the piano was posted on PSL’s official Instagram account.
“Countdown to the #HBLPSL9 Anthem…excitement! “The official HBL PSL Anthem 2024 will feature Ali Zafar releasing his magic,” the post’s caption stated.
The musician had requested feedback on the league’s title song a few days before.
During the tournament’s first three seasons, Ali Zafar provided anthems.
In 2016, he produced ‘Ab Khel Ke Dekha’ and sang it. After its release in 2018, his song “Ab Khel Jame Ga” became the most popular song, smashing all previous records for cricket anthems.
During PSL season 3, he sang “Dil Se Jaan Laga De.”
Ali Zafar’s “Ab Khel Jame Ga” remains the most popular PSL song, despite contributions from several well-known singers such as Haroon, Asim Azhar, Arif Lohar, Aima Baig, Nasibu Lal, and Atif Aslam.
The PCB announced that PSL season 9 will begin on February 17.
The opening match will be between the current championship holders, Lahore Qalandars, and Islamabad United, winners of the 2016 and 2018 editions.
